Red Couch Day
A well known China adoption tradition is taking pictures on the red couches at the White Swan Hotel. All the babies in the adoption group are dressed in beautiful Chinese dresses and placed together on one of the red couches. We have an unusually large group of 17 families…so yes, 17 babies all together for a picture! This is Caroline getting ready for her picture (we start to tear up thinking about prom night 16 years from now!).

Seeing her so pretty in red makes me think about her wedding day. I think I remember hearing/reading that the traditional Chinese wedding dress is red to symbolize love and joy...can you believe you'll have another girl to walk down the aisle one day, Scott? Caroline is beautiful, and she'll no doubt have a beautiful life story to tell. Her groom will be a lucky man!
Love,
Susan

Just checking to see what has been going on with you guys. The picture of Caroline in her red dress is beautiful! Claire figured out that she would meet Caroline at gymnastics class in a couple of weeks! She has been looking at her pictures and deciding what clothes she and Katie will be able to dress her in. I'm glad Caroline has such a good disposition with all of the plans the girls have for her already. Enjoy the rest of your trip and we look forward to meeting her very soon!
